Welcome to Double Dog Studios
In 2019, illustrator/businessman Dave Klüg and marketer/consultant Pat Klüg took a leap of faith. They sold their home in a Pittsburgh suburb and purchased and moved into the former rectory for St. Joseph German Catholic Church in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
Their move signaled the beginning of a new chapter. Together, they would create a place for art exhibitions, education, learning, sharing, gatherings, and community strengthening.
The St. Joe’s rectory, which dates back to the early 1900s, offers ample space for realizing their dream. The 8,000-square-foot building features a four-square design with four floors and 16 rooms, each with 12’ ceilings. The Klüg’s home will also be home to three art gallery areas, a spacious kitchen for guest chef dinners and wine tastings, a salon for lively discussions, and a workshop space for burgeoning and accomplished artists.
Double Dog Studios got its name from the sentinel dog statues standing guard, a gift from a good friend. The Klügs’ real, live double dogs, Ollie and George, bring warmth, inspiration, and their breed of hilarity to space.
After months of loving restoration, St. Joe’s Rectory, now Double Dog Studios, officially opened its doors on November 30, 2019, welcoming guests.
